California Passes Smartphone Kill Switch Law

All smartphones sold in California after July 1, 2015, will be required to have anti-theft technology that allows device owners to remotely lock and wipe data from phones if they are lost or stolen, PCWorld reports

Minnesota was the first to institute a kill switch mandate, but the law doesn’t require the capability to be enabled as a default.
