What to Expect at NASCIO 2013

In the City of Brotherly Love, state IT leaders gather for innovation and collaboration.

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) is set to inspire IT experts with the latest state technology during the organization’s annual conference.

October 13–16, state- and local-government CIOs and IT leaders will congregate at the Philadelphia Marriott for three days of “leadership through innovation and collaboration.”

Guests will share invaluable industry insights during roundtable discussions and foster new partnerships through networking opportunities. Attendees will also learn lessons in CIO leadership as well as tricks of the IT trade from nationwide experts.

Head to these Must-See Sessions

Lunch with Ben Franklin: Who embodies the spirit of invention more than Benjamin Franklin, one of Philadelphia’s most famous sons? Conference attendees will enjoy a hearty meal with one of our nation’s founding fathers as he is brought back to life (by an actor) to humorously critique the leadership and originality of George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. His ethereal being will also discuss the collaboration that happened while building the city of Philadelphia and nurturing the young democracy of the United States of America.

Pinnacle Keynote: Dr. Alan Gregerman, president and CIO of Venture Works Inc., will uncover your inner virtuoso in his address, “Surrounded by Geniuses: Unlocking Brilliance in Yourself, Your Business and the World Around You.” Not only will Gregerman reveal the importance of creating and nurturing new ideas hidden right under your nose, but he will also highlight the benefits of an innovative mindset for government.

Pinnacle Closing Keynote: As the program wraps, Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter’s closing keynote address will examine how the push for innovation in the city has created a stronger technology infrastructure that cultivates creativity. Attendees will learn how the implementation of innovation and collaboration produces constructive inspiration.

Apps Rule Everything Around Us
