NASCIO Midyear Conference Provides Valuable Resource for State CIOs
Keynote presentations by thought leaders in mobile, cloud and cyber security and a visit with Congress highlight the event.
The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) kicks off its Midyear Conference today in Baltimore . NASCIO is regarded as one of the finest resources for state CIOs, a role that is evolving faster than ever.
This year’s conference will be highlighted by the “DC Fly-in”. On Wednesday, May 9, a delegation of state CIOs, state policy leaders, and association staff will convene in Washington, D.C., to meet with members of Congress, Congressional staff, federal agency officials and state association partners. This annual event presents a rare opportunity to step inside the halls of the Capital building to discuss the technology needs of local government.
The conference itself commenced today in Baltimore with a Public Sector Leadership Forum. The list of speakers includes several notable leaders such as Maryland Chief Innovation Officer Bryan Sivak, Minnesota Chief Information Security Officer Chris Buse and Donna Roy of the Department of Homeland Security. Experts in their respective fields, the presenters will cover relevant topics such as mobile technology, cybersecurity, cloud computing and identity management. NASCIO also aims to support state CIOs with resources for engaging with the Federal government and will discuss current legislation regarding technology and telecommunications.
