The consulting center aims to develop thought leadership around operational optimization and transformation.

Professional services company Ernst & Young recently announced the launch of the EY Center for Government Modernization, led by the company’s government and public sector consulting firm.

  • Operational optimization for government, focusing on workforce transformation, automation and modernizing legacy systems
  • Equity and well-being for communities, focusing on tech solutions related to public health, equity and accessibility
  • Constituent experience transformation, focusing on how agencies can modernize government services

Calls for IT modernization in government have been urgent in recent years, as reports make it clear that the public sector is falling behind its private sector counterparts.

State agencies recognize the importance of modernization, consistently ranking it as a top priority. The National Association of State Chief Information Officers released its top 10 priorities for state CIOs in 2023, and modernization of legacy technology was fourth on the list, moving up a spot from the year before.
